The user interface is an application management console, including these elements:
itlebar: At the top of the system screen, showing the system name, license details and the current user, see Users overview for more.
Main menu: The top line under the system title bar gives access to dropdown menus for major system functions, see Main menu. Options depend on your User status, License details as well as current selection on screen. Access from the keyboard by pressing the Alt key plus the appropriate letter, for example press Alt+T for the Tools menu.
Toolbar: icons for frequently used functions depend on your current selection, see Toolbar icons for more.
At the bottom tab cards let you choose what to see on the left of the workspace, the default is to display the Explorer:
Explorer: choose whether to Show/Hide Explorer using the leftmost icon in the system toolbar, or the first option on the File menu. When Explorer is switched on you see major headings for the system as follows: Users, Projects, Hosts, Resources, Configuration, use these links to find out more. Move through the Explorer tree clicking the + signs to expand these nodes and the branches under them - exactly what you see will vary according to your User status, and license details.
Click
selects an item or expands lists. Click once on + and - to expand and
collapse lists respectively. Pressing + next to the Email Action node
for example displays the list of email actions in a list in the Explorer
tree.
Double-click to open an item. For example double-click a user, action
or data source node to see their properties window in the Details pane,
or double-click a decision node in a workflow to see the calculation.
Right-click an element to access its most common functions. For
example right-click a user to create a New User, or right-click an existing
user to access that user's Properties, see Right-click
menus for more.
Search: this tab displays the system search, see Search for more.
Project: Choose this tab to display artifacts only from the current project.
Recent: This tab displays only artifacts that have been recently accessed, i.e. all the actions, data sources and other components used since you logged on. Where an item is currently selected, it will appear at the top of the Recent list.
To the right is the Details pane, the major portion of the workspace:
Details pane on the right of the Explorer is where details of elements are displayed. For example select an item in Explorer, right-click and choose the top line from the right-click menu "New ...component name", to see the empty properties window of the kind you selected in the right hand Details pane. The display in the Details pane depends on your selection - choose Details View from the right-click menu to see a list with details, or Large Icons view for a list of icons, see Right click menu. The triangular symbol on column headers in the Details view window can be used to sort the information in this column.
Status bar: shows the execution status of actions, see Action properties for more.
