Users are visible at the top of the Explorer tree to administrators and will either be administrators or standard users who are assigned to particular projects and hosts. A user assigned to a project may access all the resources of that project and when assigned to a host can access resources deployed to that host. User access may be handled externally or can be regulated by Login/Logout windows. There are three categories of user:
Standard users do not have administrator privileges set in the User properties. Standard users can change their own password but cannot create other users and will not see them listed in the Explorer tree. Standard users are assigned to hosts and projects by Administrators and see the hosts and projects to which they are assigned.
Administrators are users with Administrator privileges set in the User properties screen. They can view, create and delete standard users and can assign them to projects and to hosts. Administrators can manage projects, i.e. view all projects, create modify or delete projects and assign users to them. Administrators can view all hosts, create new hosts, modify or delete hosts, and assign hosts to users.
Super Users are a special category of administrator with full system rights. A super user is created by default at installation and cannot be deleted. The super user can create and maintain all users, including administrators, and can alter the License key.
An administrator or Super User sees themselves and other users listed at the top of the Explorer tree. Administrators and Super User automatically have access to all projects and hosts.
To create a new user: Select the Users heading and either right-click or use the toolbar, see New user for more.
