On many windows you are able to browse to find a file, which saves you typing in the path. This is used either to open or import resources into your system, or to save or export resources. You also see it if you choose Save definition for a particular action in the Explorer tree, in which case it is already open at the last folder used to save resources. The Open window and Save window are similar and will let you navigate to the folder where you want to retrieve a file:
File name: In the case of an open window select the required file from the folder you have navigated to. In the case of a Save window type in a name for the output file you are saving, for example a report file name, or select a file from the window to see this name in the field, in which case you can change the name or overwrite the selected file.
Files of type: lets you regulate the file types shown in the window. In some situations there is a default file extension here. For example if you press the Browse button at the File delivery properties window for a CSV data source, then you see the file extension .csv entered by default so that only files of this type will be listed. Similarly text files will show .txt files by default and spreadsheet files, .xls.
